Champlain LHIN Map with Sub-Regions

Eleven thousand years ago, the Champlain Sea covered most of what is now the Ottawa Valley all the way to the St. Lawrence.

It left behind sea shells, remains of Beluga whales and a sense of shared destiny for the people who live here.

It is most appropriate that our LHIN be called Champlain after the sea and the explorer whose adventures took him to these shores.
